ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Lake Champlain

Lake Champlain is a really big body of water that stretches across a few different states in the northeastern United States. It's kind of like a giant swimming pool, but instead of being filled with clear water, it's filled with murky water that you can't really see through very well.

The lake is surrounded by land on all sides, except for where it connects to other bodies of water. There are mountains and hills and forests all around, and people like to come to the lake to swim, fish, boat, and do other fun things.

There are also a lot of animals that live in and around Lake Champlain. There are fish like bass and trout that swim in the water, and birds like eagles and ospreys that fly overhead looking for fish to eat. There are also some animals that you might not expect to see in a lake, like deer and black bears, that sometimes come down to the water to drink.

Overall, Lake Champlain is a really cool place with lots of interesting things to see and do. But, just like with any big body of water, it's important to be careful and listen to grown-ups when they tell you to stay safe.
