ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Lakshana

Lakshana is a fancy word that's used to describe how something looks or behaves. It's like when your mommy tells you to look for the red ball, she'll describe it to you by saying things like "it's round and bouncy and it's the color red". That's a lakshana!

Sometimes people use lakshanas to describe things that are hard to see, like wind. If your daddy says "look at the tree, you can see the wind moving its leaves", that's a lakshana too!

In India, lakshana is used to describe different features of music or dance. Think of it like a recipe book. Just like how a cake needs certain ingredients and steps to be delicious, music and dance have certain characteristics and movements that make them special. These are called lakshanas.

So, whether it's finding a ball, feeling the wind, or understanding the beauty of music and dance, we use lakshanas to help us understand things better!
