Lala Lajpat Rai was a very important man from India a long time ago. He was born in 1865 and grew up in a place called Punjab. He studied very hard and became a lawyer when he was older.
But do you know what was even more important than being a lawyer to him? He wanted India to be a free country! Back then, India was ruled by the British and they were in charge of everything. Lala Lajpat Rai wanted the people of India to have the power to make their own decisions about their country.
So, he worked very hard to help India gain independence from the British rule. He encouraged the people of India to fight for their freedom and he led many protests against the British.
He was a very brave man, but unfortunately he was punished severely for his actions. During one of the protests, he was beaten up so badly by the British police that he died from his injuries.
Even though he died, his legacy lived on. He is still remembered in India today as a hero who fought for his country's freedom. Lala Lajpat Rai is an important figure in Indian history and will always be remembered as a symbol of bravery and patriotism.
