Landed gentry

The landed gentry are people in England who were owners of large plots of land called estates. They were often wealthy, influential, and held important positions in society. They were connected through marriage and inherited land from their families. Landed gentry were sometimes referred to as “gentlemen” and they wore fancy clothes and often had servants to do their chores. They lived in luxurious homes and showed their status by having the latest fashionable things.
