Lardon

Lardon is like a very small piece of bacon, just like the big bacon that you eat with eggs for breakfast. It's actually a kind of bacon that's not sliced as thinly as the regular bacon you might be used to. Lardon is cut into small cubes and it's used in cooking to add flavor to cooked dishes. It can be added to soups, pasta, potatoes, or anything else you might want to add some bacon flavor to. Lardon is made from pork belly and it's usually salty and smoky in taste. It's a fancy ingredient that chefs use to add some special flavor to their dishes.
