Laughter is when something is funny or silly and it makes us feel happy inside, so we make funny sounds and shake our bodies a bit. It's like when you watch your favorite cartoon and it makes you giggle or when your friend tells you a joke that you find hilarious.
Laughter is good for us because it helps us feel less stressed and more relaxed. It also makes our bodies release chemicals called endorphins which make us feel even better. When we laugh, we feel good and we forget about our problems, just like when we play outside and forget about all the things going on at home.
There are lots of different kinds of laughter. We can giggle, snicker, chuckle or belly laugh. Sometimes, we laugh when we don't expect to, like when we trip over a toy and fall on our bottom. This is called a "spontaneous" laugh.
Some people laugh more than others, and that's okay. We should never make fun of someone who laughs differently or who laughs a lot. It's important to remember that laughter is a way for us to enjoy life and feel good on the inside.
