ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Law of effect

The law of effect is a rule that says if something good happens after you do something, you are more likely to do that thing again. For example, if you get praised for sharing your toys with someone, you will probably continue to share your toys in the future because it made you feel good. On the other hand, if something bad happens after you do something, you are less likely to do that thing again. For example, if you get scolded for coloring on the wall, you probably won't do it again because you don't want to get in trouble. This is how we learn from our experiences and become better at making choices.
