Law of superposition

The law of superposition is like a rule that tells us how old something is. It's about rocks or layers of the ground. When something is buried in the ground, like a rock or a layer of dirt, it gets covered up with new stuff that's put on top of it.

The law of superposition says that the oldest things are on the bottom, and the newest things are on the top. So, if you find a lot of different rocks or layers of dirt, the oldest ones will be on the bottom, and the newest ones will be on the top.
