Lead glass

Lead glass is a special kind of glass that is made by adding a type of metal called lead to regular glass. It is called lead glass because it is made with lead, a heavy, shiny and silvery metal.

When lead is added to glass, it makes the glass look sparkly and shiny. It also makes the glass softer and easier to shape, so you can make it into lots of different pretty things, like fancy wine glasses or colorful stained-glass windows.

But, because lead is not good for people, it is important that we handle lead glass with care. It’s important to wash your hands after touching it and to not put it in your mouth or swallow it because the lead can be harmful if it gets into your body.

So, lead glass is really pretty and sparkly, but we must handle it carefully to stay safe!
