ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Learned industriousness

Have you ever heard the phrase "practice makes perfect"? Well, when we work hard and practice something often, we become better at it. This is called industriousness.

Learned industriousness means that when we are taught to work hard and practice often, we become better at working hard and practicing often! It's like a skill that we can learn and get better at.

For example, let's say you want to learn to ride a bike. At first, it might be hard to balance and you might fall a lot. But if you keep practicing, you'll get better and better. And if someone teaches you to not give up and keep trying, you will become even better at practicing and improving your bike riding skills. This is learned industriousness!

So basically, if we work hard and practice often, and are taught to keep trying and not give up, we can become really good at whatever we want to do!
