Lebollo la banna

Lebollo la banna is a traditional act that takes place in the Sesotho culture in Africa. It is also called the "bride price" or "dowry." When a man wants to marry a woman, he must pay a certain amount of money, animals, or other items to the woman's family as a sign of respect and appreciation for allowing him to marry their daughter.

Think of it like when you go to the store to buy a toy. You must pay money to the store in order to take the toy home with you. In the same way, a man must pay for the woman he wants to marry.

This tradition is important because it shows that the man is serious about his intentions to marry the woman and that he respects her family. It also helps to strengthen the bond between the two families.
