Legal year

Okay, so you know how mommy and daddy always have a calendar to keep track of things, like birthdays and holidays? Well, just like that, the government also has a calendar called the legal year. The legal year is really important because it helps the government keep track of time for legal things, like when laws were passed, when court cases happened, and when certain legal procedures have to happen.

The legal year is like a big clock that starts on a certain day every year and ends on another day. In some places, it starts on January 1st and ends on December 31st, just like our regular calendar. But in other places, the legal year might start on a different day, like March 25th or September 1st.

When the legal year starts, it's like a brand new beginning for all legal things. So if there was a law that was passed in the last legal year, it will still be valid for this new legal year. But if there was a law that was supposed to be passed before the end of the last legal year, but it wasn't, then it might not be valid anymore.

Just like how mommy and daddy have to remember important dates on their calendar, lawyers and judges also have to remember important dates in the legal year. They have to keep track of when cases are happening, when certain documents have to be filed, and when deadlines are coming up. And if they miss one of those dates, it can be really bad for them and their clients.
