ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Lens hood

A lens hood is like a hat for your camera. Just like how a hat protects your head from the sun or the rain, a lens hood protects your camera lens from unwanted light or glare. It's a cup-shaped accessory that goes around the front of your camera lens and blocks out any extra light that might sneak into your photos. This extra light can cause things like lens flares or white spots in your pictures. But with a lens hood, you can block out that extra light and get better, clearer photos. Think of it like a superhero cape for your lens – it helps your camera take the best pictures it can!
