Barn doors

Barn doors are just like the doors you see in your house or classroom, but they work a little differently. Instead of swinging open and closed on hinges, barn doors slide along a track. Imagine a toy train track, but bigger and stronger.

These sliding doors were originally used on barns (thus the name) because they needed big openings to get in all the hay and animals. Regular swinging doors would take up too much space and get in the way. With barn doors, they can slide open and closed without taking up a lot of room.

Nowadays, barn doors have become really popular in homes as a style choice. People like the way they look and the practicality of not needing a lot of space to open and close them. Plus, they can add a touch of rustic charm to a modern home.

So, the next time you see a sliding door that looks like it belongs on a barn, you'll know what it is and why it's so special.
