Letter beacon

Hello kiddo! Today we are going to learn about something called a letter beacon.

A letter beacon is kind of like a special signal that sends out letters in a way that other people can pick up. It's kind of like how you might send a message to a friend by writing a note and passing it to them.

But instead of passing a note, a letter beacon sends out a signal that can be picked up by special machines called radios. These radios can then "decode" the signal and figure out what letters are being sent.

Imagine you're playing a game of telephone with a group of friends. One person starts by whispering a message into another person's ear. That message then gets whispered to the next person, and so on, until it reaches the last person.

With a letter beacon, it's like the first person is sending a message to everyone at once, without having to whisper it to each individual person in the group.

So that's basically what a letter beacon is! It's a way of sending letters through the air so that other people can pick them up and read them using special machines called radios.
