Leveson Inquiry

Do you know how when you do something wrong, you may get in trouble and your parents or teacher will ask you questions to figure out what happened? Well, the Leveson Inquiry was something like that, but for a really big group of people called the media.

These people include newspapers, television channels, and websites that write and talk about news happening in the world. The government in England wanted to make sure that these people were being fair and telling the truth when they reported on things.

So they asked a man named Lord Justice Leveson to investigate and figure out if the media was acting in a good and truthful way. He spent a lot of time asking people who worked in the media questions and trying to find out if they had done anything wrong.

After a long time investigating, he wrote a report with his findings and recommended some changes that the media needed to make. This report was really important because it helped make sure that people would get true and fair news in the future.
