Lilac chaser

Okay, so imagine you are playing a game of "I Spy" with your friends. You spy something that is moving in circles and changing colors. That's a lilac chaser!

If you look really closely, you'll see it's made up of lots of little circles. Each circle is a different color, kind of like a rainbow. The colors slowly change from blue to purple to pink, and then back to blue again. This happens over and over, like a wheel turning.

But here's where it gets really cool. In the middle of all these circles, there is one circle that's missing. It's just not there! And instead, you see more of the colors around it. This makes it seem like there's a little gap going around in a circle too.

But as you keep watching, something even cooler happens. The gap seems to be filled by a ghostly lilac circle. It's like magic! The lilac circle keeps moving around, circling the other colored circles. And as it moves, it makes the gap seem to disappear and reappear over and over again.

So why is it called a lilac chaser? Well, it's because if you watch it long enough, the lilac circle seems to "chase" away the other colors. It's like the lilac is taking over the whole circle until it disappears and starts all over again.
