ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Linus Pauling

Linus Pauling was a really smart scientist who found out lots of things about how our bodies work and how different chemicals interact with each other. He was especially interested in something called "molecules", which are tiny little building blocks that make up everything around us, like the air we breathe and the things we eat.

He discovered that one molecule called DNA is really important because it carries all the instructions for how our bodies are supposed to grow and work. Without DNA, our bodies wouldn't know how to make all the different parts they need to stay healthy.

Mr. Pauling also found out that some chemicals, like vitamin C, can actually help our bodies stay healthy by protecting them from things that can make us sick. He spent a lot of time studying how vitamin C works and why it's so good for us.

Overall, Linus Pauling was a very important scientist who taught us a lot about the world around us and how we can keep our bodies healthy.
