Lip sync is when someone moves their mouth in time with the words they are hearing or singing, like a pretend game of talking or singing. Think of it as a way to make it look like someone is actually saying or singing something even if they're not. It's just like when you pretend to talk with your stuffed animal or doll- you move their mouth to match the words you're saying. Actors, dancers, and singers often use lip sync to make it look like they are singing or talking live, even if they're actually miming the words.
