Liquid elastomer molding

Okay kiddo, have you ever played with play-doh? You know how you can mold and shape it however you want? Well, imagine that instead of play-doh, we have a special kind of material called liquid elastomer.

Liquid elastomer molding is like using a mold to create a special shape out of this liquid material. It's sort of like pouring your play-doh into a mold and waiting for it to dry into a specific shape.

But instead of waiting for it to dry, we use a special machine to heat up the liquid elastomer and make it solidify into the desired shape. This machine is called a molding press.

First, the liquid elastomer is poured into the mold. Then, the mold is put into the molding press, where it's heated up until the material becomes solid. Once the material has cooled down, the mold is removed, and voila! We have a perfectly shaped piece of solid elastomer.

This process is commonly used to create things like gaskets, seals, and other products that need to be made out of a very specific shape or size. It's an efficient way to mass-produce these products because we can create many identical pieces at once using the same mold.

So, in summary, liquid elastomer molding is like making a shape out of play-doh, but instead of waiting for it to dry, we use a special machine to heat it up and make it solidify into the desired shape.
