Lithuanian Wars of Independence

Okay kiddo, so a long time ago, Lithuania used to be part of another country called Russia. But the Lithuanian people wanted to be their own country and make their own rules. So they fought in some wars to try and become independent.

The first time they tried was in 1918, just after the big war that involved a lot of countries. Lithuania declared that they were their own country, but Russia didn't like that and sent their army to try and take over Lithuania again. But the Lithuanian people fought back with their own army and after some battles, they were finally able to push the Russian army out and become independent.

But then, another country called Poland decided they wanted a piece of Lithuania too. So they went to war with Lithuania, and even though Lithuania fought hard, they ended up losing part of their territory to Poland.

Then, a few years later, Russia tried again to take over Lithuania. But this time, Lithuania had the help of some other countries, like France and the UK, who sent soldiers and supplies to help them fight. Eventually, they were able to defeat the Russian army again and keep their independence.

So, basically, the Lithuanian Wars of Independence were a series of battles and wars that the Lithuanian people fought to become their own country and keep their independence from other countries that wanted to control them. It was tough, but they were able to succeed eventually with a lot of hard work and help from their friends.
