Liturgical use of Latin

When people go to church, they sometimes sing songs and say prayers together. Some churches use a language called Latin for these songs and prayers. Latin is an old language that people used to speak a long time ago. Some churches still like to use Latin because it is a very special kind of language that has been used in religious events for a very long time.

When the priest talks during the church service, he may also use Latin to say some parts of the ceremony. This is called the liturgy. The liturgy is like a special script that the priest follows during the church service.

Using Latin in the liturgy can help make the church service feel even more special and important. It can also help people feel more connected to the history of the church and the things that people believed a long time ago. But not all churches use Latin in their services.
