ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Live cell imaging

Live cell imaging is like watching a movie about the inside of our body.

Just like how we can see the outside of our body, scientists invented special tools and cameras to see what happens inside our body. They call it live cell imaging because it allows them to watch living cells, which are like tiny little units that make up everything in our body.

To do this, they take a special camera called a microscope and aim it at the living cells. The microscope has a special light and lens that helps it be able to zoom in and see what's happening inside the cells.

Scientists use live cell imaging to understand how our body works and how things like diseases can affect our body. They can watch what happens when drugs or other treatments are given to the cells and see if it helps or makes things worse.

It's really cool because with live cell imaging, scientists can see things that they may not have been able to see before. It's like being a secret ninja spy inside our own body!
