Locating engine

The engine is like the heart of a car, it makes the car go. But, sometimes you need to know exactly where the engine is so you can work on it or fix it if it's broken.

Ok, so imagine your car is a big sandwich. The bread on the top is called the hood. When you open the hood, you can see all the yummy stuff inside the sandwich, like the lettuce, tomato, and cheese.

In the car, the lettuce, tomato, and cheese are like the different parts, such as the battery or the windshield wiper fluid. But, the yummy meat inside the sandwich, that's the engine!

And just like the meat in the sandwich is in the center, the engine is also located in the center of most cars, right in the middle of all the other stuff under the hood.

So, when you want to locate the engine, you just need to find the big metal thing in the middle of the car sandwich, under the hood bread.
