ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Loco moco

Loco moco is a dish from Hawaii that's made up of four parts: rice, hamburger meat, gravy, and a fried egg. It's like a big, yummy bowl that you can eat for breakfast, lunch or dinner!

The rice is like little tiny white balls that have been cooked in water until they're soft and fluffy. Think of them as mini clouds that you can eat!

The hamburger meat is made up of ground beef that has been shaped into a patty that's about the same size as your palm. It's cooked on a hot grill or in a pan until it's browned and crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

The gravy is a special sauce that is poured over the hamburger patty and rice. It's made up of yummy ingredients like beef broth, onions, butter, and cornstarch, which are mixed together and heated until they turn into a thick, delicious sauce.

Finally, the fried egg is like a little sun that's been cooked in a pan until the whites are firm and the yolk is still runny. It's placed on top of the rice and hamburger patty, like a warm, tasty hat.

When you put all these four parts together in one bowl, it creates a dish that's called loco moco! It's a little bit like a hamburger, a little bit like breakfast, and a lot of yummy goodness!
