ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Locomotive frame

Ok kiddo, let's talk about train engines! A locomotive frame is like the skeleton of a train engine. Just like your body has a skeleton inside that helps keep everything in place, a locomotive frame keeps all the parts of the engine together and in the right position.

It's made of really strong metal called steel, which is able to withstand the weight of the engine and all the things it pulls, like freight cars or passenger cars.

The frame also has special spots where things like the engine's big wheels, or cylinders, can be attached securely. These parts need to be held in just the right way so the engine can operate smoothly and safely.

So, when you see a cool train going by, just remember that it's the locomotive frame that is holding everything together and making it go!
