ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Logic of graphs

Graphs can be used to represent things like numbers or pieces of information. They are made up of points (called "nodes") that are connected with straight lines (called "edges"). The points represent the information and the lines show the relationships between them. For example, if you had a graph of numbers that showed how many books each person in a family had, the nodes would be each person in the family and the edges would connect them with the number of books each person had. To figure out something about the graph, like which person has the most books, you can look at the points and lines and use a process called "logic" to figure out the answer.
