ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Logical truth table

A logical truth table is like a chart or a table that tells us what happens when we combine different statements with words like "and," "or," and "not." It helps us see if the statement we are making is true or false based on the information we have.

Imagine you have two pieces of candy: one red and one blue. You can use the words "and" and "or" to describe them. If you say "I have a red candy and a blue candy," you are using "and" to combine two statements. The truth table tells us that this is only true when we have both candies. But if you say "I have a red candy or a blue candy," you are using "or" to combine statements. In this case, the truth table tells us that this statement is true no matter which candy we have.

In the same way, we can use logical operators to combine more complex statements, and the truth table tells us if they are true or false based on the information we have. It may seem tricky at first, but just like how you learn new things, you'll be able to understand it with practice!
