Lohgarh is a very old fort located in Bilaspur. A fort is like a big and strong castle made of stones and bricks. Long time ago, people used to build forts to protect themselves from enemies who might want to hurt them.
Lohgarh was built around 600 years ago by a king named Raja Bhupendra Singh. The fort has a big gate which is also called 'Darwaza' in Hindi. The Darwaza is the entrance to the fort and is very strong and sturdy. It was built to keep the enemies out.
Inside the fort, there are many tall and strong walls also known as 'kothris'. The walls were made to protect the people who lived inside the fort. The soldiers used to stand on these walls and guard the fort.
Lohgarh fort also has a big pond called 'talab'. The pond was used to store water so that people living inside the fort had enough water to drink and use for other purposes.
There is also a temple inside the fort called 'Ganesha temple'. This temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesha who is known as the God of wisdom and prosperity. People come here to pray and receive blessings.
Unfortunately, over time the fort has become old and parts of it have fallen apart. However, some parts of the fort are still intact and people can visit and see the history of the fort.
