ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Longtermism

Longtermism is a way of thinking about the world and how to make it a better place. It means making decisions and taking action with the long term future in mind. For example, if something might hurt people in the future, you might choose not to do it, even if it benefits people in the short term. This idea is important because what we do today will affect the future, so it’s important to think that way.
