Loop device

A loop device is like a pretend hard drive. It's something you can use so your computer can read a big file, like a movie or a big sound file, even if your computer doesn't have enough storage space. You can make a loop device by setting up a fake storage drive and having it act like it's a real drive. It'll pretend to be a real hard drive, but it's just made up of a single file. That file will act like a container for all the other files related to the movie or sound file you wanted to open.
