Lucifer

Lucifer is often thought of as an evil being, like a devil. However, in the Bible (the religious book Christians and Jews use) Lucifer is actually an angel. Angels are spiritual beings that live with God in Heaven and they do God's work. Lucifer was the most powerful angel and his job was to praise God and show the other angels how to love and serve God. Because Lucifer was so powerful, he began to think that he was better than God and started to disobey God. Because of this, God punished Lucifer and sent him away from Heaven to a place called Hell. In some stories, Lucifer is presented as a devil, someone who tempts people to do bad things.
