Luftwaffe
The luftwaffe was the air force of Germany during a big war that happened a long time ago. Just like how you may have seen airplanes in the sky, the luftwaffe had airplanes too. But these airplanes were used for fighting in the war.
The luftwaffe was a part of a group of people called the Nazis who were trying to take over many countries in Europe. They used the luftwaffe to try and win battles and take over places. The pilots who flew the planes were very brave and had to be very good at flying and shooting to help win the war.
Sadly, many people were hurt or killed because of the luftwaffe and the war. But after a while, the Nazis were defeated and the luftwaffe was no more. Today, airplanes are used for things like helping people travel and delivering packages.
