Lunar plaque

Hey kiddo! Do you know what a plaque is? It's a special little thing people make to remember something or someone important. Like when you make a card for your mommy's birthday, that's like a plaque for her special day!

Now imagine a plaque that was sent all the way to the moon! This is called a lunar plaque. These special plaques were put on the moon by astronauts during the Apollo missions. They made sure to put them in a spot where future astronauts could easily see them and remember the important things they represent.

The lunar plaque has a picture of a globe that represents planet Earth, and it shows where all the Apollo missions landed. There's also a message on the plaque that says, "Here men from the planet Earth first set foot upon the Moon, July 1969 A.D. We came in peace for all mankind". This is to remember and honor the first time humans traveled to the moon.

So whenever future astronauts visit the moon, they will know that humans were there before and left a little something behind to remember their great achievement!
