ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Luso-Indians

Okay, so imagine you're playing a game, and you have two different colors of blocks: one red, and one blue. Now, imagine you take one red block and one blue block and put them together. That's kind of what a Luso-Indian is!

Basically, a Luso-Indian is someone who has ancestors from two different countries: Portugal and India. Long ago, Portugal had a lot of control over India, so many Portuguese people went to India and had families with Indian people. That's how the Luso-Indian people came to be.

Luso-Indians have a mix of both Portuguese and Indian cultures. So, they might speak both Portuguese and an Indian language, and they might eat foods that are from both countries. They might wear clothes that are a mix of Portuguese and Indian styles, too.

Overall, being a Luso-Indian just means you have a really unique and interesting cultural background!
