ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Luzon

Luzon is a big island in the Philippines. An island is a piece of land surrounded by water. Luzon is the biggest island in the Philippines, and many people live there. It has cities, towns, and villages, just like your neighborhood, but much bigger.

Luzon has a lot of cool things to see and do. There are high mountains, like Mount Pulag, which you can climb and see beautiful scenery from the top. There are also beaches, like Boracay and Palawan, where you can swim in the pretty blue water and build sandcastles. Luzon is also home to many animals, like monkeys and tarsiers.

People have been living on Luzon for a very long time. They have their own culture, which means they have their own music, food, and traditions. Their food is different from what you might eat at home. They eat things like adobo, which is chicken or pork cooked in vinegar and soy sauce, and lumpia, which is like a crispy spring roll.

Even though Luzon is one island, there are many different types of people who live there. There are Filipinos, who are the native people of the Philippines, and also people from other countries who have come to live there. They all speak different languages, like Tagalog, English, and Ilocano.

Luzon is a very special place, full of different kinds of people, animals, and things to do. If you ever have a chance to visit Luzon, you should definitely go and explore all it has to offer!
