ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Lydia of Thyatira

Lydia of Thyatira was a lady who lived a long, long time ago in a place called Thyatira. She was very good at selling colorful, fancy things made out of a special material called purple dye.

One day, Lydia met a man who was talking about a really important person named Jesus. She listened carefully and decided she wanted to learn more about him. Soon, she became a believer of Jesus and started following his teachings.

Lydia was very kind and generous. She invited people to her house to teach them more about Jesus and would help out those in need. Her house became a meeting place for many people who followed Jesus.

Lydia was a really cool lady who was very strong and brave. Even though in those times, women did not have as many rights as they do today, Lydia didn't let that stop her from being a leader in her community. She showed everyone that she was just as smart and capable as any man.

Overall, Lydia was a great role model for people who wanted to believe in something bigger than themselves and wanted to help others just like she did.
