ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

MAC spoofing

Mac spoofing is like pretending to be someone else when you play a game with your friends.

When you use the internet, your computer has a unique address called a "MAC address" that helps other computers recognize you. But sometimes, people might want to trick other computers into thinking they are someone else.

Just like how you might pretend to be your best friend when playing, someone can pretend to be you using Mac spoofing. They change their MAC address to look like yours, so when they try to access something that you usually do, other computers will think it's you.

This can be dangerous because they might try to steal your information or pretend to be you online. So it's important to always check that the MAC address is really the one you expect.
