ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

MHC multimer

Okay kiddo, I’ll do my best to explain MHC multimer to you!

MHC stands for Major Histocompatibility Complex, it’s like a name tag on our cells that tells our immune system who we are. Think of it like the name tags we wear at a party so everyone knows who we are.

Multimer means many. So when we put these two words together, MHC multimer means many of these name tags stuck together. Just like how many small lego blocks can be put together to build one big lego tower!

Scientists make these multimers in the lab and use them to study how our immune system works. They can use them to find and count immune cells in our blood that recognize and fight off harmful things like germs and viruses.

So, to sum it all up, MHC multimer is like a bunch of little name tags stuck together that help scientists study how our immune system protects us from bad things.
