ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

ML (programming language)

Alright kiddo, let me explain machine learning (aka ml) in a way that you can understand.

You know how mom or dad teaches you things, like how to ride a bike or how to draw a picture of a cat? Well, machine learning is a way for computers to learn just like you do!

Imagine you want to teach a computer to recognize a picture of a cat. You can't just tell the computer, "Hey, that's a picture of a cat!" No, you have to show the computer lots and lots of pictures of cats so it can learn what a cat looks like.

The computer uses math to look at all the details of the pictures, like the size of the ears, the shape of the whiskers, and the color of fur. It then tries to find patterns in that information that can help it identify a cat in a new picture it hasn't seen before.

Just like how you get better at drawing cats the more you practice, the computer gets better at identifying them the more pictures it sees. And that's machine learning! It's a way for computers to learn just like you do by using lots of examples to figure out how things work.
