Macapuno

Macapuno is a type of coconut that is different from the regular coconuts we usually see and taste. It is a special kind of coconut that is very sweet and sticky.

Macapuno is actually a genetic mutation or a change in the coconut’s DNA that happens naturally. This mutation causes the coconut’s flesh or meat to be thicker, softer and a lot stickier than the usual coconut meat. This is why it is often called “mutant coconut”.

When we crack open a regular coconut, we see a white hard flesh inside. But when we crack open a macapuno coconut, we see a translucent, soft, jelly-like flesh. This unique flesh makes macapuno different and special from other coconuts.

Macapuno is commonly used in desserts and sweet treats such as ice cream, cakes, pastries and candies because of its distinct taste and texture. Some people even eat it straight from the shell.

In summary, macapuno is a special type of coconut with a sweet, sticky and jelly-like flesh that is used in many desserts and sweet treats.
