ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Magic (cryptography)

Okay, so imagine you have a secret message that you want to send to your friend, but you don't want anyone else to read it. That's where magic, or cryptography, comes in.

First, you take your message and turn it into a code, kind of like a secret language. You can do this using a special key or formula, like turning each letter into a different letter or number.

Next, you send the coded message to your friend, but you don't want anyone else to be able to decode it and read your secret message. So you use a magical spell, called encryption, to scramble the code even more. This makes it really hard for anyone who doesn't know the secret key to figure out what the original message said.

When your friend receives the message, they use another magical spell, called decryption, to unscramble the code and turn it back into the original message. They have the secret key that you used to create the code, so they know how to "unlock" the message and read it.

So, basically, magic or cryptography is like using secret codes and spells to keep messages safe and protected from those who shouldn't read them. It's like having your own secret language that only you and your friend know how to speak.
