Magnetic helicity

Magnetic helicity is kind of like an eyeglass holder. An eyeglass holder holds the pieces of a pair of eyeglasses together, so that the eyeglasses can stay in the same shape and stay on your face. Magnetic helicity works almost the same way – it holds the pieces of magnetism together so that the shape of the magnetism stays the same. It keeps the magnetism from "falling apart" and being broken up into smaller bits.
