Major non-NATO ally

A major non-NATO ally is a country that is not a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), but has a special partnership with the United States. This partnership makes it easier for the United States to work with these countries in areas like military and security cooperation, economic development, and intelligence gathering. The United States has more than 30 major non-NATO allies around the world, including Australia, Japan, and South Korea.
