Makera Assada

Makera assada is a delicious snack that people in some parts of Nigeria enjoy eating. It's made by roasting unripe plantains over an open fire until they are soft and tender.

To make it, you need to first get unripe plantains, which are greenish in color and hard to the touch. Cut off the ends and slice the skin down the middle of each plantain, making sure not to cut too deep. Then, use your fingers to gently peel off the skin until each plantain is naked and clean.

Next, find a fire or a hot grill to roast the plantains over. You'll want to make sure the fire is not too hot, or the plantains will burn. Place the plantains on the grill or stick them onto long skewers and hold them over the fire.

As the plantains cook, the skin will darken and the flesh inside will become soft and sweet. Keep turning them over so they roast evenly on all sides. Finally, take them off the fire and let them cool down a bit.

Makera assada is usually served with spicy pepper sauce or boiled peanuts, and can be eaten as a snack or a side dish. It's a tasty way to enjoy plantains, and a great treat for anyone who loves roasted food!
