Making false statements

Making false statements means telling something that isn't true. Telling a lie is a kind of false statement. It is wrong to make false statements because it can make things really confusing for people trying to figure out what is true and what isn't. People might believe something that isn't true and make decisions based on it, which is not good. Making false statements can also hurt people's feelings or make them angry or embarrassed.
