ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Malay Peninsula

The Malay Peninsula is like a really big land that sticks out from the bottom of Asia, like a pointy nose! It is surrounded by water on three sides: the Indian Ocean to the west, the South China Sea to the east, and the Strait of Malacca to the south.

There are lots of different people who live on the Malay Peninsula and many different languages spoken there, but many people speak Malay. The people who live there like to fish and grow crops like rice and rubber trees. They also have big cities with lots of buildings and cars.

The Malay Peninsula used to be ruled by different kingdoms and empires, but now it is split up into different countries, like Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. Some people call this part of the world Southeast Asia, and it has a lot of cool things to see and do like beautiful beaches, temples, and rainforests!
