Maltese cross

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen a really cool symbol that looks like four arrows pointing towards the middle? That symbol is called the Maltese Cross!
It's named after the country Malta, which is a very small island in the Mediterranean Sea.
The Maltese Cross is used as a symbol of bravery and courage because it was worn by brave knights who protected the land a long, long time ago. Those knights were called the Knights of Malta and they were very strong and brave, just like superheroes!
Nowadays, you might see the Maltese Cross on the sides of ambulances and fire trucks because those are also people who help protect us and keep us safe, just like the knights did many years ago.
