Order of Malta

The Order of Malta is like a big club, but instead of playing games, they help people who are sick or in need. Imagine you and your friends all have special talents like some of you are really good at bandaging cuts, some of you are great at giving medicine, and some of you are great listeners who can make someone feel better just by talking to them. That's kind of what the Order of Malta does, but on a bigger level.

The Order of Malta has been around for a really long time, like since the year 1048! They started out as a group of people who wanted to help pilgrims who were traveling to the Holy Land. Over time, they've grown and now have members all over the world who help people wherever they're needed.

They're called the Order of Malta because they're based on an island called Malta in the Mediterranean Sea. That's where they first set up their headquarters.

Nowadays, the Order of Malta still helps people who are sick or in need. They have hospitals, clinics, and first aid stations all over the world. They also help people who are affected by natural disasters like hurricanes or earthquakes, and they even provide assistance to refugees who are fleeing dangerous situations in their own countries.

Even though the Order of Malta is like a big club, they also have a special status with the United Nations. This means they have some extra privileges that other organizations don't have. They're kind of like superheroes who help people all over the world!
