ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Managerial state

Managerial state is a term used to describe governments that use scientific and technical methods to manage their economy and society. In other words, they are governments that rely on research and technology to make decisions about how to keep their economy and society running smoothly. For example, they might use data and analyses to decide how to invest in infrastructure or how to allocate resources. They might use computers and new technologies to do things more efficiently, like managing taxes and providing health care. In some cases, the government might even use artificial intelligence to help make decisions.
